Before I go on...this test is easier than I ever imagined. I thought it'd be like the aesthetic swabs I'd gotten 20 years back for a Bronchoscopy prep. NOPE, not at all. This is easy, fast and only mildly uncomfortable for a split second. A mosquito bite is ten times worse.
So, weeks after having gotten my COVID-19 Antibody test, I decided to get the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) diagnostic test. This comes a day after I found myself (by accident) walking amongst a large crowd of marchers/protesters in Manhattan. Was only there, in the thick of things, for less than a couple minutes. 'and it's not as if I was very close to folks, I wasn't. Was actually 4-6 feet from everyone there...and Most everyone had masks on, as did I. Considering how I've been wanting to do this since it first began, I figured why not.
Turns out, if one has concerns about having possibly been exposed then it pays to wait a little bit before getting tested. So, I may very well be getting tested yet again within a week's time.
I've asked the mayor about his wishes for everyone being tested. He's all for it being on a full scale measure. I'm sure that if I were to ask him if everyone should be tested on a daily basis, that is, IF we had the means? I'm guessing his response would be a resounding yes.
Hey people, Get tested!
Short of a vaccine, it's the only way out of this freaking mess!
